Just Start

Almost a year ago I created this website with two intentions, one to make me take out my camera every day, and two, to get me to write. As with any new project, you come out guns blazing with fresh enthusiasm and it takes centre stage, but a few months later I started coming up with excuses to skip the commitment I had made to myself. It’s been an interesting journey with weeks of inaction, and sometimes posting photos with only a title but I kept going. At one stage I considered it a failed project but perhaps I raised the bar too high for myself, doing this takes time and energy which sometimes I just don’t have. Coming up to the anniversary of this project I am feeling a new found energy around my photography and online social presence. I have turned an idea into a website, no more pressures of deadlines but the subtle pull of wanting to take photographs and share a piece of me with them. I had intentions to make the shift from a content consumer to a content creator some time back and if I had not taken the leap to turn my idea into reality, I would have missed many of these moments consuming other peoples dreams.
